In the novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Janie’s love life involved playing the stereotypical house wife. Everything she did was either some type of chore or an answer to a command. Her first marriage was against her will and forced upon by her grandmother. Then Jody Starks came along and painted the picture of an ideal husband. ....
