There has only been one depression in the history of the United States of America. There were a few other instances throughout the nineteenth century, which lasted in periods of 20 years, known as recessions, none were anyway as severe as the one suffered in the 1930s which was known as a depression.

Overall manufacturing was 54 percent of what was in 1929. Automobiles were created at 20 percent of 1932's, and steal was at 12 percent of 1929. Farmer's income slid from $12 billion in 1929 to $5 billion in 1932. ....
