Clostridium Difficile And Psuedomembranous Colitis

Clostridium difficle is a rod shaped gram positive bacteria.
Clostridium difficile is anaerobic and also a spore former, which allows it
to live in the environment for months until it is orally transmitted into
its host. Clostridium difficile causes psuedomembranous colitis, and
antibiotic associated colitis. It produces three toxin .... Middle of paper .... however some cases were noted to start after antibiotic therapy
had been discontinued. The antibiotics that cause clostridium difficle to
release the toxins that cause psuedomembranous colitis are clindamycin,
ampicillian, cephalosporins, pennicillans, erythromycin, sulfamethoxazole,
