But with such problems as bad investments, bad income distribution, bad banking, bad foreign trade, and over-expansion of credit the stock market crashed and the U.S. was heading to a depression. One of the first Acts to affect the economy was the Emergency Banking Relief Act. This act authorized the Federal Reserve Board to issue more currency. It prohibited a private hoarding of gold and exporting of gold. In Roosevelt’s second day of term he issued a four-day ho .....

AUDIO: The sound is Dolby 5.1 and Dolby 2 Channel, and it sounds great. It's definitely sounding better than it ever has before. There are some great uses of the surround because most of the movie is driving and there are some rather nice explosions.
EXTRAS: I'll admit that the disc is rather lacking in this category. However, it does have some gr .....

Most of the early problems with the censorship of music came about in the early 1950's. This was the first real era of rock and roll in America. In 1954 a Michigan Congresswoman tried to pass a bill that stated that the mailing of any explicit or pornographic album could lead to some hefty jail time, up to five years if convicted. When looking back, the 50's had some of the .....

On a daily basis, Max used his supercomputer, Euclid, (which spanned his entire Chinatown apartment) to make attempts at computing this value. Some days he would make accurate predictions, others he might not have been so lucky, but he never considered it luck – it was all math.
Two groups apparently had been following Max at this point – a group of Hasidic Jews and a stock market trading house. They were both also seeking this .....

crash that occurred in October 1929, with huge losses, was not the
fundamental cause of the Great Depression, although the crash sparked, and
certainly marked the beginning of, the most traumatic economic period of
modern times.
By 1930, the slump was apparent, but few peopl .....
