Movie: Dead Poet’s Society
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 896.... by. “Carpe Diem, Seize the Day like there will be no tomorrow, Seize the Day before it passes you by.”
The Welton Academy rears young boys into strapping men under the laws of ethics and morality, standards created by the school, centered around discipline and conformity, opposed to creativity and initiative. Mr. Keeting, a new teacher from the Chester School in London, not only introduced his students to a European method of teaching, but cultured them with independent thought and originality. He lead his students into the battle field of life, upon the unbalanced sea of .....

Review Of Three Movies: Trainspotting, Ferris Bueller's Day Off And Jurassic Park
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 900.... I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who
needs reasons when you've got heroin?" It is very difficult to resist the film's
great energy.
"Trainspotting's" subject matter is raw and raunchy, including AIDS, overdoses
and violence as well as obscene situations described in unprintable language.
This is a film that makes you laugh of things that can in no way be described as
funny. How is this possible? In the film's signature scene, where Renton, in
search of some lost opium suppositories, dives head-first into "the filthiest
toilet in Scotland" and e .....

Julius Caesar: Marcus Brutus Character Analysis
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 841.... to Cassius. Brutus
loves Caesar, but would not allow him to "climber-upward…He then unto the ladder
turns his back…"(act 2, scene 1, ll.24,26). As the quote says, Brutus would not
allow Caesar to rise to power and then turn his back onto the people of Rome.
After the assassination of Julius Caesar, Brutus talks to Antony about Caesar's
death. "Our hearts you see not; they are pitiful; and pity to the general wrong
of Rome…"(act 3, scene 1, ll.185-186). Brutus says that Antony cannot see
their(members of the conspiracy) hearts, which are full of pity. Again, this
shows how .....

Essay On Flowers And Shadows
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 297.... of Jonan's wealth and power. So who's vengeful plot brought him out
of the shadows, where his controlled madness might have fooled the likes
of Jonan for a while, but the latter's paranoia finally caught on and
killed Sowho and itself; putting a rest the destruction and curse laid
upon the poor factory workers and opening a broad new scale of
possibilities that might (in long terms) help tip the edge of demeaning
business ethics in the Nigerian society.
Anyone who read Macbeth would agree that it's quite parallel to
Flowers & Shadows. Even thought the books wher .....

Death Of A Salesman: Society's Alienation Of Willy Loman
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 888.... because he
thought Willy, "needed some rest." Actually, Howard never intended to give
Willy his job back. He was merely trying to take Willy's position because
he didn't believe Willy could hack it anymore. This is a reflection of
society's present day treatment of the elderly. Younger generations now,
move older people into rest homes and try to keep them out of public view,
for risk of embarassment. This is reflected by Howard's statement, "I
don't want you to represent us anymore." Society's assumption of Willy's
capabilities, in this case, cost him his job.
A se .....

Macbeth: A Tragic Hero

named Macbeth the new thane of Cawdor. Now, Macbeth is absolutely shocked.
The witches prophecy has come true! He can not believe it! But now
Macbeth has a lot more on his mind; the third prophecy about becoming the
King. Macbeth knows that if something were to happen to Duncan, Malcolm
and Donalbain, Duncan's sons, would be the rightful heirs to the throne.
How can Macbeth be King when he is nowhere near the next in line to the
throne? Another requirement for a tragic hero is that he must have a
tragic flaw. Macbeth's tra .....

Movie Review: The Color Purple
Number of pages: 1 | Number of words: 242.... little, if any,
respect toward the original story, by Alice Walker. He slaughtered a story most
people had heard of, but never read. I thought the movie itself was rather good.
It had it's own good and bad points. Up until about when Sofia left Harpo, they
were almost identical. After that they are almost two different stories with
the same ending.
The movie was written purely for entertainment. It added a small number of
scenes, but cut more than it added. Also, it emphasized different parts of the
story than the book. The film is about a young black girl growing up in t .....
