(Beckson and Ganz 207) The green light is first mentioned in chapter one of the Great Gatsby. Nick, the narrator of the novel, sees Gatsby curiously stretching his arms out towards the water. Moll's acts of prostitution show that she will carry out illegal practices in order to get money. Moll's many instances involving thievery also express the theme of greed. .... Jack is a devil because of the savage ways he acts like the red hair, painted faces, the savage pig hunts, the rituals, sacrifices, and the terrorist acts. Jack is evil because of him being always murderous. He is always wanting to hunt things and not care what happens to the animal. Once he gets incharge of his own group he paints his face and his red hair make him look like the devil. He uses threating comments to get other people join his group. And he goes on savage acts like going and beating up Ralph and Piggy for Piggy's glasses. Jack is always bulling his way throug .....

Another example of her being two sided is the role she talks about playing in Duncan’s death, and the role that she actually does play in it. There are a few times in the play, mostly when she is attempting to persuade Macbeth into committing the murder, that she says he should just leave the murder to her. Throughout the play she gradually decreases her role in the murder until it becomes Macbeth& .....

.... board a train and travel to a concentration camp. Elie, Elie’s mom, father, and sister all boarded a train heading for the concentration camp called Auschwitz. When they arrived, the SS separated the men from women. This was the last time Elie saw his mother and sister ever again. From this time on, Elie only had his father to protect him. The person in charge of their barrack was fairly nice because he treated the Jews like human beings. They were able to eat thick soup with bread, and were occasionally allowed to drink black coffee as well. Since they had no real jobs .....

.... Mitty is brought back from this daydream by his wife's voice, as she says, "'Not so fast! You're driving too fast! . . . What are you driving so fast for?'" Here the reader sees the sharp contrast between the daydream and real life. In the daydream, Mitty has the full respect and admiration of the passengers of his imaginary hydroplane. In real life, his only passenger, his wife, scolds him for not driving properly. This contrast between the competent man of the daydream and the incompetent man of real life is repeated over and over. Each repetition shows the differe .....
