A Review: The Day Of The Jackal
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 495.... this points to Fredrick Forsyth's amazing mood setting talent in this novel.
The reader feels at one with the many characters as they each take part
in the many small ventures that give rise to the climax. In a scene where the
Jackal is purchasing a fake identification card, the reader can tell that the
man making the card is an expert. Not because it was mentioned, but because the
man has such a large amount of information about I.D. cards to offer. This same
writing talent that displays the characters with subtle suggestion instead of
giving specific details is also shown wh .....

introduce many characters into the plot.

who seeks revenge, being a key .....

Mansfield Park
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 358.... wide variety of reactions to Mansfield Park-most of which already
appear in the Opinions of Mansfield Park collected by Jane Austen herself soon after the
novel's publication. Some dislike the character of Fanny as "priggish" (however, it is
Edmund who sets the moral tone here), or have no sympathy for her forced inaction
(doubtless, those are people who have never lacked confidence, or been without a
date on Friday night!). Mansfield Park has also been used to draw connections between
the "genteel" rural English society that Jane Austen describes and the outside wo .....

Huckleberry Finn: A Good Role Model
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 637.... the best thing, but to Huckleberry, the truth is not always a black and
white issue. He is faithful to his friends and chooses friendship instead. He
knows that Jim's family needs him. In today's language, Huckleberry's reaction
to Jim's situation would reflect what Spock of Star Trek says, “The needs of the
many outweigh the needs of the few.”
An illustration of another positive side of Huck shows us that he has a
good and true heart, and the best intentions even though they may not turn out
right. For example, the widow tells Huck to pray for the dinner they are having. .....

Notes: As you read The Grapes of Wrath you must take into consideration that Steinbeck has traveled with Oklahoma migrants so that he is writing from experience. However, because he .....
