The other characters also believed in what the fought for in the end of the book and for example the loud soldier who (believed that he wasn’t afraid ended up changing and becoming a nice person as well as a good friend. He learned that what he originally believed, which was I am not afraid of anything wasn’t what he truly believed. He was terrified; he even gave the youth his will. The Union or blue sky with sun, believed in what they fought for. They believed that a state cannot succeed .....

.... feelings about motivation as well as lack of it. After reading this book, I came to the conclusion that Holden and I are a little more similar than I initially believed. The protagonist, Holden Caulfield, interacts with many people throughout J.D. Salinger's novel, The Catcher in the Rye, but probably none have as much impact on him as certain members of his immediate family. The ways Holden acts around or reacts to the various members of his family give the reader a direct view of Holden's philosophy surrounding each member. How do Holden's different opinions of his fam .....

The stories are bound by the fact that the magical things they discover are unbelievable at best. They often criticize Paul for his affection for a horse he should have outgrown long ago. No one would believe that the rocking-horse essentially talked to him. Although the characters in "A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings" believe that an angel is in their presence, they have no idea what to do with him. No one had ever dealt with a spirit on this level befor .....

.... were shell-shocked because of the constant bombardment. When one of the boys was wounded, he was taken to a hospital where there were many wounded soldiers. Some soldiers had to have parts of their bodies amputated in order to survive. When Kemmerich was in the hospital, Müller ask for his pair of boots. The boots was a visible reminder to the boys of the cost of war. Paul then has to face his own conscience when he kills one of the Frenchmen. He doesn't see the face of an enemy but just a face of another human being. He tries to comfort himself by promising to help the f .....

Eventually she rationalizes that the image behind the wallpaper is a woman who is struggling to be set free and equates herself to th .....

It showed me that it does not matter were you come from or what you do, it is okay to dream and work as hard as you can to reach it . For all it shows for friendship and loyalty it also shows how sometimes you have to do things you never thought you would do. For example in the end when George is forced to shoot Lennie in the head you would never have thought he would do that, but you can see that under the circumstances he had no other cho .....

Racism is a less specific form of genoism, and although such discrimination is outlawed, the laws are unenforceable because in this dystopian society, as it is in BNW, one's "genetic quotient" is known from birth.
