Had he given in to his fear of going against what was considered the correct way, he never would have made a difference. The woman in the film helped him to realize that he could be more then what others wanted for him. By doing things his way he made his mark on the world of ballroom dancing and achieved his dream of becoming a champion. He broke free of the mold, and so over came his fear. People fear many things, and of these .....

Throughout his whole childhood, he has always been taught to honour the Repentances. After he meets Sophie, he thinks that there is nothing wrong with her and that she's harmless for she can definitely not be a mutant. However, in his society she is considered to be a deviation and a mutant, because of her extra toe. From this point on he begins to question the childhood beliefs he was taught to obey. He doesn't realize what their beliefs mean until .....

Other characters are changed but only toward the end of the book. Thenardier is shown as an evil man throughout the book, but it is at the end where he contributes to the apotheosis of the good; this is the law of life as God planned it. Javert acts like a robot, deciding always according to the letter of the law and not its spirit, but in the long run his strength proves spiritual weakness, until the end of the b .....

The statement "the greasers and socs are more alike than different" means that each of them are gangs. Each of the gangs are after the same things. They are after power and protection. They all want to make a name for themselves. 6. Johnnie's mother reacts so strongly because she is scared that her son is finally dead. She feels that they have done so much for him and he is still in the gang. She is afraid that one day he will be killed in one of the .....

From the opening of the book, where an old and withered Holden Caulfield begins with a distant flashback from a rest home to his days in Pencey Prep, a boy's school in Pennsylvania, to the end where an obviously senile Holden, back at the rest home, claims he will be able to leave soon and that he will go back to school next September. I found the ending to be anti-climactic, but it was still pretty humorus. The overall book seems to be more of a confession than a story, but it provides an entertaining change.
