.... Bromden’s view is omniscient. Although he poses to the ward staff as a deaf-mute, he actually hears and comprehends all that happens within the hospital. The Chief was able play the part of a passive observer, stationing himself in important meetings and able to see and hear things which are concealed from other inmates. This insight into what is happening around the ward is vital to the way in which Kesey’s themes are brought to the readers awareness. We are able to understand not only Bromdens delusions but also his perceptions into the way the ward and society work. Althoug .....

.... a fact, that in Shakespearean times, turbulent and dramatic weather such as this, meant that the earth's elements were uneasy, and foretold that something disastrous was to happen. The evil witches seem to be at ease in weather conditions such as these, and it appears that they also have control over the weather. We see the witches deciding which type of weather they should meet up again in, "when shall we three meet again, In thunder lightning or in rain?" These lines suggest that hey do in fact have control over the weather, and they also show that the witches appear to be co .....

.... that all people should blindly follow Big Brother without thinking at all. The people are stronger as a large group who does not question Big Brother. This statement in some ways applies to life. It almost has the same meaning as "what you don't know can't hurt you." The thought that stupidity helps one through life is a hard idea to accept but in some ways is true. Sometimes in life maybe it is the right idea to just go along with the group instead of using your own judgement. This is a troubling thought, but one that may occur more often then people would like to be .....
