Racism My Antonia
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 601.... 118). Another situation was when Jim descried an African-American woman as a buxom Negro wench (page 119). Including the part where Jim describes that, Lapland women were fat and ugly with squint eyes (page 154). I have seen these situations usually in a verbal fight of two people of different races. They would try to hurt each other by verbally throwing inferior describing at each other's ethnic background or physical features.
Natives seem to have a natural instinct of not being able to trust foreigners. Most of the time is because they have insufficient knowledge about .....

Hamlet The Central Dilemma
Number of pages: 7 | Number of words: 1841.... a man without motive for his apparent indecision, and eventual action.
However what does appear to be the central theme in Hamlet is the revenge tragedy dilemma. This central issue is the seed that has spawned the generation of the other themes of the play. Hamlet’s father has been murdered in cold blood by the scheming and adulterous Claudius by pouring poison into King Hamlet’s ear while he slept, in order to succeed him to the throne. A ghost in the form of Hamlet’s father appears to Hamlet, revealing to him that the King of Denmark is corrupt and a .....

clouds and surrounds everything. The flakes lightly touch your face, attaching to your
lashes and tickling your nose. The snow covers the dirt, and piles upon the ground. The
bare driveway made of dirt and rocks is covered with a blanket of cold, smooth white.
These fluffy flakes grasp onto the branches of the bare trees, giving them back their
beauty. This surroundin .....

Robert Frost Five Poems
Number of pages: 6 | Number of words: 1593.... me. I can picture an old man trying to blow a piece of dirt off the paper. Then the piece of dirt starts moving, as he sees what he believes to be a dot on the paper but really to be a mite. The old man then starts to think about the value of life. The theme of the poem is that there is no such thing as an insignificant speck. Everything and everyone has a purpose for being here. This poem is filled with alliteration. Some examples I found are: cunning crept, tenderer-than-thou, and breathing blown (Silberner 98). Mind is repeated three times in the final stanza. Also there w .....

To Kill A Mockingbird Life Sty
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 404.... as well as home life and society.
Home life in the novel is very foreign to us. First of all, we don't have a cook or servant unless we are very wealthy. The Finch's had Calpurnia to fix their meals. There was more of a family closeness attitude back then too, whereas today families are often split up, and kids can become less and less attached to their families. Independence is a common denominator in both time periods. Rites of passage again, were another similarity in both time periods.
Children had a very limited role in society back in post-depression Alabama. They ha .....
