Find Government Term Papers
Prop. 209
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 408.... that the government runs. It will save $125 million annually by
elemating programs that the state uses to inforce affirmative action.
These savings can be used for other, more constructive programs to help
elimate discrimination. Maybe other Propositions on the ballet can use the
extra funds. I think that ending affirmative action will be the right
thing to do. It ends government-sponsored discrimination by rejecting
quotas, preferences and set-asides.
My brother had a run in with affirmative action. After attending a
junior college and getting a 4.0 there he .....

Political Parties
Number of pages: 8 | Number of words: 2039.... when laws were made by kings and their advisers, parties could not exist because there were no elected officials. Parties began to emerge in Europe and North America in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, when elected legislatures became a dominant force in government.
In the earliest decades in which existed, their memberships were quite small. In the United States and England, for example, most citizens were not allowed to vote. Party membership, therefore, consisted mainly of landowners, members of the nobility, factory owners, merchants, and other wealthy individuals .....

Wilson’s “War Message”; Bush’s “War With Iraq”
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 365.... seeking nothing for ourselves but what we wish to share with all free peoples…”
Bush: “Our goal is not the conquest of Iraq. It is the liberation of Kuwait.”
These statements each emphasize the unselfishness of the American people in their addition to the war effort. Both Wilson and Bush are highlighting the fact that the wars they are going to fight are not America’s wars, but that America is willing to help for the greater good of humankind.
Wilson: “We shall fight for the things which we have always carried nearest our hearts – for democracy, for the right of thos .....

The Changing World Of Women
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 470.... My father isn’t exactly helping me with the situation. He hates the fact that I want to work. In his case, women are not supposed to work unnecessarily if their husbands can provide for them(or their fathers can provide for them if their not married), but in a place like Saudi Arabia where men and women don’t mix at work, working just enhances the mind and makes one wiser to the ways of the world. In my mothers opinion, women become better companions to their husbands who should be more understanding and supportive. I feel that instead of being selfish, we can work out way .....

Gangs
Number of pages: 6 | Number of words: 1525.... old, who is not yet a member) is shown that s/he could make $200 to
$400 for small part time gang jobs. Although these are important factors
they are not strong enough to make kids do things that are strongly against
their morals.
One of the ways that kids morals are bent so that gang violence
becomes more acceptable is the influence of television and movies. The
average child spends more time at a TV than she/he spends in a classroom.
Since nobody can completely turn off their minds, kids must be learning
something while watching the TV. Very few hours of television .....

Canada's Copyright Law
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 861.... video store, copy and return it, with no one the
wiser.
The problem with copying video and audio tapes is that for every copy
you make the recording artist, the actors, producers and everyone else who
collect royalties from the tapes lose money. If the companies start to lose
money, they raise prices. Thus a vicious circle begins. As prices go up, fewer
people buy original copies. If less people buy the original cassettes prices
will once again rise.
Another major form of piracy is plagiarism. The stealing of someone
elses ideas or work. The biggest cat .....

Insights On De Tocqueville's Democracy In America
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 699.... one, the U.S. would someday
be a world power as would Russia, second, race would prove to be the most
intractable problem for the U.S.
One of Tocqueville's observations about the United States is that he
thought there is no country in the civilized world that is less attention paid
philosophy than the United States. This is applicable to American life in 1997
because the whole world is practically joined to the United States. Just about
every country in the world trades with, tours in, and watches for the United
States. What I mean by watches is that they practical .....

Freedom
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 373.... then we can get somewhere. If we are willing to give some up, then we can give that to certain groups and organizations that have the facilities, knowledge, and technology to help keep us safe and healthy (FDA), employed (AFL), living in a clean environment (EPA), and to allow us to hold on to more of our money (ICC). If all of our is given up, then we have lost the meaning for which the pilgrims sailed to America. To go somewhere where they could think for themselves and not be told what to do or how to live. If we gave all of our , then we would no longer be a Democracy .....
