Christianity And Racism
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 1081.... the most objection interracial marriages. They say to me "love all races, just don't marry outside of your own." These days we are All receiving two different messages concerning . How did God intend his people to interact with one another? For that we must turn to God's word, the Bible.
Genesis 1-2 gives the account of God's creation of the universe, the earth, and its inhabitants. It is very evident that mankind is a very important part of his creation. Man (and woman) was created in God's image. "The human race not only reflects the creative power of God but also represents .....

The Sacred Divine
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 513.... to hell. I remember what my Sunday school teachers
told of this place where you live in a a fiery pit always in pain. I'm sorry,
but that just doesn't sound like fun to me. I began from then on being the best
person I could, I never missed church on Sundays, and to the best of my ability
tried to live the life Jesus has paved for us. This is by far the most
religious experience, that I have ever experienced in my life. I never found
myself so part of a religion, that I was so Christian that I was going to live
my life in such a way that I was going to heaven. In my judgmen .....

Monasticism And The Code Of Chivalry
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 485.... monks to be closer to God. They are poverty, chastity, and
obedience.
Poverty meant that the need for money and material possessions were not
needed as a means of worship. The monasteries gave the monks the things that
they needed, and this was only the bare essentials. The monasteries made their
own money by owning land and selling surplus products. Thus, they became very
wealthy.
Chastity meant that the men and women would not have sex or get married.
This was said to have saved the monks from the "devilish acts" that happen when
sexual desires were exploited for self .....

The Bible And If God Exists
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1147.... them, and newspaper headlines read "INCREDIBLE DISCOVERY: TALKING FISH!" then it would be more than reasonable to believe they existed. No one really disputes such common sense, until it is applied to religion.
I've never seen or talked to a god, or seen a god do anything unmistakably godlike. People insist they know one exists, but most of them really say they only feel it, and don't offer any other proof. Indeed, it is odd that those few who honestly offer the more genuine proof of actually hearing god talk are branded insane even by the believers. Believers are probably ri .....

Old Testament Vs. Hellenic Divine Intervention
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 876.... his family to be the only survivors after the flood that wipes
out the earth. His destiny was to build the ark and take a pair of every living
creature to help repopulate the earth after everything is wiped out. This is
similar to Oedipus at Colonus, in the Hellenic texts, because the gods choose
Oedipus to save the city of Colonus from his own sons. They differ because God,
in the Old Testament, chooses rather blindly. He does not choose people for any
reason except that is who He wanted. If He does choose, it is based on goodness
or loyalty to Him. The gods of Hellenic .....

Who Was Jesus?
Number of pages: 6 | Number of words: 1390.... rules to live by. But, they reflected a time in
history where that kind of love for one another was hard to find because
of the hardships inflicted upon the people.
I find some conflict in Jesus' actions, however. Jesus never (as far
as I know) says to ignore to commandments of God in the Hebrew Scriptures;
however, constantly breaks the Sabbath (Matt 12:13 and others), and gives
VERY flimsy and unconvincing explanations for it. I am not sure what his
message was in those actions. Perhaps he didn't care?
In general, Matthew was a good, entertaining story to read .....

Ancient Greek Beliefs Of Religion And Death Differs From Other Cultures
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 827.... archery, and
young unmarried men and Hestes, goddess of the home. As you can see, the Greeks
believed in many gods unlike the people of the Jewish fate who believed in one
god. The Jewish god does not have an emblem that which it is represented by.
The belief is that the god is represented by everything. For example, members
of the Jewish religion believe god is everywhere, in everything, and represented
by everything they do. Another example of the religious differences is how
Ancient Egyptians believed in idol gods which are gods represented in statues.
Ancient Gre .....

Buddhism
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 314.... Buddha taught "the Four Noble Truths." The first is "Life is
Suffering," which means everyone suffers jealously, pain, sickness, etc.
even enlightened ones. The second is "Suffering is Caused by Attachment,"
which basically says one must accept responsibility for one's actions. The
third noble truth is, "Freedom from Attachment is the Cure for Suffering";
this says when one is released from suffering he shall reach a state of
mystical unity with the one that created the universe, nirvana. The last
noble truth is, "the Way Out of Suffering is Through the Eigh .....
