Technology The End Of Mankind
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 509.... that has caused casualties in the past and is bound to cause many more in the future is weapons. The weapon that has had the most impact is the gun. It has killed millions, not only in wars, but in everyday life as well. In addition, there is the atomic bomb that killed thousands at Hiroshima. More recently there is the nuclear missile that is capable of wiping out an entire major city. Moreover, there are many inventions that have been built with the intent to improve life only to repeatedly take it away from people. Some such inventions are cars, planes and nuclea .....

Resonance
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 524.... passed through the tube four times
making the closed tube, one fourth the length of a sound wave. By a continuous
sound frequency, standing waves are produced in the tube. This creates a pure
tone.
We can use this knowledge of one fourth wavelength to create our own
demonstration. It does not only have to be done using wind, but can also be
demonstrated using tuning forks. If the frequency of the tuning forks is known,
then v=f(wavelength) can find you the length of your air column.
Using a tuning fork of frequency 512 c/s, and the speed of sound is
332+0.6T m .....

Hurricanes
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 594.... in the thunderheads. The air begins swirling around the
storm center, for the same reason that the air swirls around a tornado center.
As this air swirls in over the sea surface, it soaks up more and more water
vapour. At the storm center, this new supply of water vapor gets pulled into the
thunderhead updrafts, releasing still more energy as the water vapor condenses.
This makes the updrafts rise faster, pulling in even larger amounts of air and
water vapor from the storm's edges. And as the updrafts speed up, air swirls
faster and faster around the storm center. The s .....

The Roswell Incident
Number of pages: 7 | Number of words: 1850.... all, has remained one of the most controversial issues today. In
Roswell, New Mexico, 1947, a strange occurrence arises. An alien craft from
outer space crashed in an open field. The issue lay still for almost thirty
years, until the thought of a government cover-up arose.
Society's opinions have changed over the years. Previous to the 1990's,
people have despised the thought of sharing the universe with other intelligent
life forms. Now people are interested in this mysterious phenomenon. People
think it is the blame of the movies and television. By watching t .....

The Geiger-Muller Tube
Number of pages: 1 | Number of words: 227.... negative charge. A rigid wire with a positive charge runs down
the center of this cylinder. The voltage across the wire and cylinder is kept
just below the point at which a spontaneous discharge, or spark, occurs. When a
charged particle or gamma ray enters the tube , it ionizes a gas atom between
the copper cylinder and the wire. The positive ion produced is accelerated
toward the copper cylinder by the potential difference. The electron is
accelerated toward the positive wire. As these new particles move toward the
electrodes, they strike other atoms and form even more .....

The Problem With Desertification
Number of pages: 7 | Number of words: 1841.... These are the lands that sustained our transition from a hunting/gathering to pastoralism and agriculture (Kaya and Yokobiri, 1997). Drylands still provide much of our grain and livestock. These areas cover more than 40 percent of the world’s land surface. As these areas decrease in size, so does the reliability of the land to support the human population. In some areas, desertification is occurring to such a degree that some lands can no longer sustain life. Large regions which have been greatly affected include: the Savannas of Africa, the Great Plains and the Pam .....

Frog Disection
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 838.... but still manages to break down fat into tiny droplets that are ready for faster chemical breakdown. The frog’s stomach is not as complex as a herbivore’s because they have to break down cellulose, which takes a longer time. (Giffard R. & Nat, M 1986)
This concludes my study on the digestion system of the frog.
FROG'S CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
A frog has a closed circulatory system just like humans. This means blood is always enclosed in blood vessels as it circulates the organisms body. Blood also circulates more rapidly and efficiently through a closed circulator .....

Global Warming A Serious Threat
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 880.... can increase air and water pollution, which in turn harm human health" (ESP Health 1). The hot temperature, which could be the most direct effect of climate change, causes the heat problem. Because their cardiovascular system has to work harder to keep the body cool during hot weather. The temperature causes harmful effects to human health and another is cause of lung problem. "Higher air temperatures also increases the concentration of ozone at ground level". When this happens, the harmful ultraviolet radiation in the upper atmosphere reaches the earth's surface. T .....
