First Stand
Number of pages: 6 | Number of words: 1465.... Because some power hungry dictator wants more space, money or
natural recourses. I think that a lot of the wars that we have had in
countries could have been prevented. Especially with all the new
technology we have today. Back when it was George Washington leading his
troops there probably wasn’t anything that could have stopped that. I think
most of the violence in wars can be prevented by just sitting down and
looking at all the problems and what the different countries want. If two
sides are at war I think it is the United States’ responsibility to get
between those tw .....

Affirmative Action: Why It Should Go
Number of pages: 7 | Number of words: 1822.... white males, who controlled the hiring and firing of employees. The U.S. government, in 1965, believed that these employers were discriminating against minorities and believed that there was no better time than the present to bring about change. This action, that started with good intentions, would later lead to a different and more complex form of discrimination.
When the Civil Rights Law passed, minorities, especially African Americans, believed that they should receive retribution for the earlier years of discrimination they endured. The government responded by passing laws .....

More Freedom Or Safety -- What Would You Choose?
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 589.... means the freedom to pursuit and
attain one’s individual potential and that the possession of firearms or
weapons by a student in a school is in no way in keeping with that idea.
Additionally, many students probably are incapable of properly using a gun
and that makes it even more dangerous for them to have one. Even though
Bishop Eustace does not have metal detectors nor are the students searched
when they enter a building, I think that if this is what would be necessary
to ensure the safety of the community, it should be done with no arguments.
If a student does not wan .....

Public School Issues
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 548.... the experiences and perspectives of marginalized groups.”
Critics of this multiculturalism movement have opposing views. Many see the program as divisive and even ”anti-American” because it encourages students to find their ethnic identity instead of trying to identify with a united American culture. It is also a common belief that a “alternative” cultural education would impede the progress of the basic learning skills that were the backbone of the educational process.
I strongly believe multicultural education and its evolutionary reform is a necessity in our educational .....

Television violence causes children to be violent and the effects can be life-

The information can't be ignored. Violent television viewing does
affect children. The effects have been seen in a number of cases. In New York,
a 16-year-old boy broke into a cellar. When the police caught him and asked
him why he was wearing gloves he replied that he had learned to do so to not
leave fingerprints and that he discovered this on television. In Alabama, a
nine-year-old boy received a bad report card f .....

Poverty
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 414.... I have heard the residents labeled as poverty stricken poor, lazy, shady characters and bums among other things. As long as an individual resides in the “project: they will continue to be labeled by most citizens, others may resent them for costing tax payers money to house and feed them.
One classmate voiced her opinion on poverty and how it was a rut that can not be overcome easily. She believed that once on government assistance, if your earnings increased the government punishes you by raising your rent and giving you less vouchers for food and services, so you gain no .....

Teamwork And Team Spirit In The Work Place
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 783.... Many workers because they do not have the ability to communicate with others in the workplace, never asking for their help, in some problems that might deal with their work and the assignment that they have to work out. So they feel stressed and as the time goes by they finally isolate them selves from the others. A teamworker never does that. He’s always there to communicate with others and help himself out or his co-workers.
However it’s essential for a company to own teamworkers. It’s well known that many brains are always better than a single one. That’s true. In a big corp .....

The Graffiti Exposure In Wynnum
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 804.... Criminologists suggest that there are many
motives for graffiti. These motives all point to one main factor. Targeting the
higher authority:
Revenge towards the authority;
Anger towards the authority;
Boredom from lack of authority;
To convince of self-existence, and
To explore prohibited areas placed by authority.
The pattern of locations the police established, is that all the tags, or the
writer's signature, are placed in exposed, publicised areas so the public can
witness the graffiti vandal's attempt to ‘make his point.'
The t .....
