L’Atalante & Breathless Response Paper
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 496

.... on with magic markers.) I appreciated the actors too. The were good at what they were supposed to do. Even though these few things made L’Atalante almost bearable, I didn’t especially like it. Breathless, on the other hand, held my interest. There was a definite plot as well as plenty of action and romance. I also enjoyed it because I had the feeling that everything I would need to know about the characters was revealed from the beginning. This film had a much more “stylized” mise-en-scene than L’Atalante. Some aspects of the mise-en-scene that caught my attention were .....

Othello: Iago's Large Appetite For Revenge
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 620

.... is thought abroad that 'twixt my sheets He's done my office". The irony of this statement is that in the next line he says that he does not know it for a fact, but because he suspects it, he will act as if for certain! This gives me the impression from the beginning, that Iago is insane and exceedingly paranoid, going so far as to set up a cache of murders, just on the suspicion of adultery. Iago was also jealous of the open and loving relationship that Othello had. When Othello and Desdemona are reunited after the journey to Cyprus, he kisses her in full view of everyone .....

The chiropractor also says that the way he sees it, "If you're frightened of dieing and you keep trying to hold on you'll see devils tearing your life away. If you've made your peace then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth." The film Jacob's Ladder uses the character of Jacob Singer to demonstrate how the film's creators view death and afterlife. The central character in the film is .....

Movie Review: Introducing Dorothy Dandridge
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 678

.... being maids, not being able to use restrooms in places they were performing, or just the fact of the constant battle with prejudice gives the new generations more respect and appreciation for where they are and the people who made it possible. The struggles that Dorthy had to g through such as the scene where they drained the pool since she touched it amazed me. I couldn’t imagine having to perform under conditions that I couldn’t use the facilities around me in the hotel I was staying. The embarrassment that went along with the pool being drained must have been enormous. Y .....

Evil In Women And Its Effect On Macbeth
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 748

.... Macbeth. Lady Macbeth's actions parallel those of the witches. The witches planted the idea that Macbeth should become king. Lady Macbeth followed through with this idea by pushing Macbeth to kill Duncan. "... a very definition of the weird sisters - calling on them to unsex her to cram her with cruelty from top to toe..." (Bloom 29). This quote illustrates the connection between Lady Macbeth and the witches, showing us that they both participated in Macbeth's moral decline. Shakespeare, it seems, utilizes the symbol of the witches to portray the basic evil inherent in La .....
