Maybe he’s scared of taking revenge on Claudius, he may think by taking revenge he endangers his own soul. “No matter how right a man might think his motives are, if Claudius is innocent; the act of revenge would inevitably make Hamlet as evil as the accused in the eyes of God” (Becker p.32).
“Hamlet decides to test Claudius’ guilt and the authenticity of the ghost; he will stage a performance of a play, which will reproduce Claudius’ crime and observe his reaction .....

King Lear: Sense Of Renewal
Number of pages: 9 | Number of words: 2301.... in equating love with reward, in this competitive
environment.
Cordelia is the only one of the three sisters who cannot fully
participate in the competition to gain her father's inheritance by engaging in
false flattery. Instead of trying to out due her sisters, she merely describes
her love in relation to their filial bond. Although her father views this as a
degrading insult and banishes her, it is shown that through her filial bond,
she loves her father with more depth and sincerity than her eager, self absorbed
sisters. Cordelia emerges amid the moral depravity and s .....

Much Ado About Nothing
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 617.... Claudio lived. Benedick was also very stubborn. He never wanted to give into other people's ideas, and that was why he didn't want to give into the idea that marriage could be a good thing in a person's life.
Beatrice was a character very similar to Benedick. She was a very independent person, and didn't want to rely on anyone for support. She also was very smart. She enjoyed reading poetry, and thought about things a lot. She also was against marriage. During one conversation, she even said that she would rather die than get married. Another characteristic of Beatrice was that .....

Dorine, Her Voice Of Reason And How She Is Able To Save The Family From Their Demise
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1217.... it is apparent that Dorine is an outspoken character, and by doing this she is clearly putting herself out on a limb because she is dissimilar to the other women of her time. I believe that it is here that Moliere foreshadows the importance of Dorine's a character. Later on in the play she will play a crucial role in saving Mariane, her counterpart, from marrying Tartuffe, and ultimately saving Orgon's family by bringing about plans to reveal Tartuffe's manipulative and deceitful character. It is important that Dorine is so outspoken because if she were not Mariane would sure .....

Death Of A Salesman - Willy
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1289.... can be
compared with popes' efforts by the difference in eighteenth century
literature and romantic poems, their descriptive natures and ideas they
portray to the reader through their writing.
Pope has written an eighteenth-century poem which he calls, "An
Hero-Comical Poem." This poem has exalted an over all sense of
worthlessness for common rules. The mentioning of Achilles and the ever-
popular Aeneas, are symbols of Pope's Gothic style. Pope speaks (almost)
G-D like throughout, "The Rape of Lock." Contrary to Keats, who is more
down-to-earth with his sense of .....

Antigone: Afterlife
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1329.... and compare them to modern day beliefs.I am sure the Greeks would have considered us to be heathens and put us to death for our ways and beliefs.I think Antigone thought her act was courageous and valid. I myself would not have risked my life to ensure a proper burial for anyone, whether it was in modern times or back then.To go against authority and break the laws given by the monarch was a plain senseless act. When someone is dead we now know there is nothing else anyone or anything can do for them at that point. It is too bad the Greeks did not believe that. As I stated b .....

Questionable Heros In The Play Julius Caesar
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 710.... to be looked upon in Mark Antony, apparently Julius
Caesar's right-hand man. He plays the part of the hero as he takes Caesar's
side after death and rallies the people against the conspirators. As he speaks
to Octavius, though, he shows that he is mainly after the power also in saying
that the third person of their new triumvirate, Lepidus, is not a worthy
adversary and is only good enough to carry messages. Antony goes on to say that
they should have him (Lepidus) killed, along with all the other people they were
making a list of. He was going to have them eliminated .....

Julius Caesar: The Corruption Of Power
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 869.... any nonsense. He did
not like opposition or anyone questioning him, even though Flavius and
Marullus had a right to express their beliefs. Caesar also presents his
despotic attitude, when Metellus Cimber begs him to reverse his brother’s
banishment. Caesar selfishly replied that this request “might fire the
blood of ordinary men…know, Caesar doth not wrong…”. He refers to himself
in the third person, and considered his status to be next to the gods. He
believed he was never wrong and his judgment was always correct.
Antony loved Caesar dearly. When Caesar was assass .....
