Iago controls Emilia through her love that she has for him. He uses her love of him to get her to steal Desdemona's handkerchief. Othello is manipulated by suggestion and hints that are carefully worded and said at just the right moment. Each one weakens his faith in Desdemona a little more. Characters of the play become unsure of their intentions due to the odd twists of fortune that they are dealt. Characters in the play that were so sure of their decisions became uncertain. This uncertainty arises when the plans of characters are somehow altered. The alterations change the fate of many characters. Polonius was killed in the wake of Hamlet's plan to find hi .....

.... causes the fight by saying "Draw, if you be men." (I, i, l 68). Benvolio, the peace-maker, arrives, he attempts to stop the fight. Future violence is foreshadowed when Benvolio says "Part, fools! Put up your swords; you know not what you do." (I, i, l60, 61). Benvolio draws his sword to beat down the weapons of the servants. This in turn causes more violence as Tybalt thinks Benvolio was involved in the fighting. Tybalt challenges Benvolio saying "What, drawn, and talk of peace! I hate the word, As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee. Have at thee, coward!" (I, i, l66 .....

It is his hesitation, rationalization, excessive thinking, all combined, to almost literally become his fatal flaw. It is his indecisiveness that almost kills him. .... nothing. During a courtroom scene, Eileen Roarke (Sandra Bullock, in a surprisingly small role for having top billing) helps Brigance to get the trial moved to another town. Unfortunately, the judge (Patrick McGoohan) decides against moving the trial. Brigance needs to get a jury of young, married men with children. What does he get? A jury of women and old men. So Brigance has his work cut out for him, especially when he is up against the cruel and cheating Rufus Buckley (Kevin Spacey). The film moves along quickly, which I wasn't expecting. The difference between the two peace-makers is that the Prince has more power than the Lieutenant. In the story of Romeo and Juliet, Paris wants to marry Juliet against her wishes. Her father wants Paris West Side Story to marry Juliet. Juliet goes off and marries Romeo without telling anyone. In Chino wants to marry Maria against her wishes, just like Paris in .....

.... and Hamlet. Most horrible of all is Ophelia's suicide-death. The emotion is evokes, coupled with the above points shows that Shakespeare's intentions was to make Ophelia, a minor character in terms of the number of lines assigned to her, into a memorable character evoking the most sympathy. To fully see Ophelia's metamorphosis, one must compare her at the beginning and at the conclusion of Hamlet. Appearing first in Act 1, Scene 3, Ophelia seems to be a spirited young girl. She is very trusting and innocent. Most important however, Ophelia is naive to the way things are .....
