parents, and... as far as practability every juvenile delinquent shall be
treated, not as a criminal, but as a misguided and misdirected child . . .
needing aid, encouragement, help and assistance."(Page 72)
If a youth is close to the adult age of 18 years they could be
transfered to the adult justice system. This means that they would be
given the same sentences as an adult including and up to life in prison.
Many people have tried to correct this problem that they see as a weakness.
Yet, so far their attempts have failed .....

Capital Punishment: Pro
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1323.... he will not be able to kill again.
Most supporters of the death penalty feel that offenders should be punished for
their crimes, and that it does not matter whether it will deter the crime rate.
Supporters of the death penalty are in favour of making examples out of
offenders, and that the threat of death will be enough to deter the crime rate,
but the crime rate is irrelevant.
According to Isaac Ehrlich's study, published on April 16, 1976, eight murders
are deterred for each execution that is carried out in the U.S.A. He goes on to
say, "If one execution of a guilty capital .....

Does the death penalty really deter criminals?
There is very little valid evidence to suggest that capital punishment
deters criminals. The most recent study of research findings on the relationship

Drinking Age
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 446.... stuff like wine, wine coolers, and fuzzy navel.
Teens that drive are in big trouble and are at big risk. I'm not
blaming the accidents that involve drunk in just teens. Drunk drivers are
of all ages. And I'm not trying to say that all teens drink either. But
the ones that do and are stupid enough to say they're sober and can drive
home safe. Those are the ones that put innocent citizens at risk. The
drunk teens that drive are looking at getting their license provoked.
They go to jail, their car gets impounded, and of course they get a DUI.

Prohibition
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 491.... of pure alcohol per person each year.”() This amount of alcohol is in about 70 gallons of beer, 39 gallons of wine, or 151/2 gallons of distilled liquor. Some people, including physicians and ministers, became concerned about the extent of alcohol use. They believed that drinking alcohol damaged people’s health and moral behavior, and promoted poverty. People concerned about alcohol use urged temperance- that is, the reduction or elimination of the use of alcoholic beverages. At first, supporters of temperance urged drinkers to drink only moderate amounts. But the suppor .....
