Gun Control
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1248.... held throughout the ages? If we do
this, are we any better than our previous rulers who used control as an
excuse for oppression?
The opposition of gun rights say that the amendment states that The
Second Amendment was never intended as a gun license for the entire
American populace. As originally drafted—and as consistently interpreted by
the courts for more than a century—the Amendment does not grant any blanket
right to own a gun nor does it stand in the way of rational, effective gun
control. They also say that the idea of gun ownership as an American

Capital Punishment
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 481.... states that even though women commit twenty percent of the homicides in the United States, women are rarely sentenced to death and executed (27). The poor and friendless defendants, those with inexperienced or court-appointed counsels, are most likely to be executed. For example, Orenthial James Simpson had the money to afford the best lawyers and was “guilty as sin,” but he was acquitted. According to Alison Coope, a disproportionate number of nonwhites are sentenced to death. Also, when the death penalty for rape was still used in many states, no white man was exec .....

Analysis Of Police Corruption
Number of pages: 12 | Number of words: 3192.... been the larger center of attention recently. I have decided to
include the fairly recent accounts of corruption from a few major cities,
mainly New York, because that is where I have lived for the past 22 years.
I compiled my information from numerous articles written in the New York
Times over the last 5 years. My definitional infornmation and background
data came from various books cited that have been written on the issue of
police corruption. Those books helped me create a basis of just what the
different types of corruption and deviances are, as well as how and why

Capital Punishment: For
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 592.... anywhere for that matter, they deserve nothing but the death
penalty. When the words ‘death penalty' or ‘capital punishment' are heard, they
obviously are disturbing and uncomfortable, but so are their crimes. There is
no hope for criminals with this kind of behavior and mentality. I believe that
capital punishment is the key necessity.
If capital punishment was enforced for severe crimes, it would eliminate a
fair amount of tax money going towards the judiciary system. If a prison were
to maintain a deadly criminal sentenced for life starting at the age of thirty

Trudeau, from day one , was always more samurai than shaman. Even in
his pre-leadership days, Trudeau's love of trial by combat was predominant.
Mackenzie King would have never touched the unholy trinity of divorce,
abortion and homosexuality: each one of these issues is a sleeping dog best
left to lie; each could only infuriate conservative Canada from coast to
coast. Since King dared not touch them seriatim he certainly would not
have touched them together-i .....

Crime And The Death Penalty
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 534.... it is for them. But, shouldn’t we think of the
families that are broken apart now because of the merciless acts of these
criminals. Think of Susan Smith, how she knowingly drove her car off into
a lake with her two children strapped to the seats. Think of how they must
have felt as the cold water started to fill the cabin of the car, and then
ultimately drown them. Barbaric is exactly the word I would use to
describe her actions. But yet, the jury rejected the death penalty and
chose a life sentence instead. Mr. Smith, the father of the two children,
broken up from the rulin .....

Police Brutality
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 722.... the Tampa Bay police Department (C.C. 27). The thing is,
the Tampa Bay Police Department is made up of mostly white officers, but of the
five men who died, none where white. Four of the five men that died where
African Americans, and the other man was a Mexican National.
If the incident in Tampa Bay does not show a person racism, this event
might. In New York City, an average of seven Latin Americans were killed a year
between 1986 to 1989, but in 1990, that number increased greatly. In that year,
twenty-three Latin Americans were killed by police gunfire.
When asked ho .....
