Legalization Of Drugs
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1284.... burglary, as
well as drug dealing, prostitution, and many others, to earn enough money to
purchase the relatively high-priced illicit drugs. "Unlike the millions of
alcoholics who can support their habits for relatively modest amounts, many
cocaine and heroin addicts spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars a week"
(Lindsmith Center). If the drugs to which they are addicted were much cheaper-
which would be the case if they were legalized-the number of crimes committed by
drug addicts to pay for their habits would, in all likelihood, decline. Even if
a legal-drug policy in .....

The Death Penalty: For The Common Good
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 439.... extortion. There is
a difference between crime and punishment. Are police officers wrong for
speeding to enforce the speeding laws? No. They also say that we should
value all human life. Even the most despicable. It is because we value
human life so much that we put such a terrible consequence for taking it.
One argument states that the death penalty does not deter people
from murdering. To abolish capital punishment on this basis would be way
off base. You would also have to get rid of prisons because they do not
keep people from committing crimes also. Texa .....

Weed
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 819.... this
"explosion" has been characteristic only of the contemporary scene. The plant
has been grown for fiber and as a source of medicine for several thousand years,
but until 500~ AD its use as a mind-altering drug was almost solely confined in
India. The drug and its uses reached the Middle and Near East during the next
several centuries, and then moved across North Africa, appeared in Latin America
and the Caribbean, and finally entered the United States in the early decades of
this century. Marijuana can even be used as "Biomass" fuel, where the pulp
(hurd) of the hemp pla .....

The Police Exception And The Domestic Abuse Law
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 770.... of the most effective law
enforcers in the country. With this law, this officer would not be allowed to
continue his services for his county and his fellow police officers. Many
people feel that this officer is being done a great injustice and should be
allowed to continue his otherwise flawless career as an officer of the law.
Interesting.
One simple conviction could ruin the lives of every cop in the country. Hard
working, one-time offensive policemen and women would be barred from police work
forever. Many people think that this is entirely too harsh for a poke in the

Cellular Phreaking
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 886.... identity, and use that instead.
How does the cellular system know who is calling, and where they are? When a
mobile phone enters a cell's area of transmission, it transmits its phone number
and its 8 digit ID number to that cell, who will keep track of it until it gets
far enough away that the sound quality is sufficiently diminished, and then the
phone is "handed off" to the cell that the customer has walked or driven into.
This process continues as long as the phone has power and is turned on. If the
phone is turned off (or the car is), someone attempting to call the .....

Date Rape
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 902.... having to do with
how American kids are raised. Boys are brought up thinking they are strong and
aggressive, while on the other hand, girls are brought up being passive and
"what you say goes" (Shuker-Haines and Stark 23) . This shouldn't be going on
in our society...not with the advancements we have made in our country.
It is sometimes said that the woman who was the victim of rape shared fault for
the rape for wearing a skirt too short, or maybe if she stops over at his house.
It shouldn't matter what women wear, or where they are. If a woman says no to
sexual activity .....

Why The Legal Driving Age Should Be Raised
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 839.... in blankets.I couldn't focus on anything. It seemed my life had been ripped away from me.
That was only one of the millions of tragic stories that parents sometimes have to face. A 16-year-old just receiving his or her license and thinking that they can do anything. What they don't realize is what danger they are putting themselves, as well as others into.
As a group, teenage drivers have high crash rates per mile driven. What isn't so widely known is that the problem is worst among 16-year-olds, the age when most beginners get licenses.
Crashes involving 16-ye .....

Gun Control-Forfeiting Our Rights
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 1070.... those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”
This statement was said by Thomas Jefferson, one of the singlemost important men in the foundation of our country. Almost all gun control debates begin with an individual’s interpretation. The Second Amendment to the Constitution guarantees us the right to arm ourselves in order to defend oursel .....
