Air Pollution
Number of pages: 6 | Number of words: 1414.... particulate matter, consists of solid and liquid aerosols suspended in the atmosphere. These arise from the burning of coal and from industrial processes. Atmospheric particles can scatter and absorb sunlight which reduces visibility. Particles also reduce visibility by attenuating the light from objects and illuminating the air causing the contrast between the objects and their backgrounds to reduce. Not only does it effect visibility, but it hastens the erosion of building materials and the corrosion of metals, interferes with the human respiratory system, and brings toxi .....

Lime Disease
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 916.... approximately 20 to um long and 0.2 to 0.25 um wide, with 7 to
11 flagella. More than 30 proteins are contained within B. burgdorferi1. This bacteria
uses white-footed mice, mosquitoes, and deer as their hosts.
This disease does not discriminate between sex and age; male and female, as
well as old and young are affected. It is widely distributed around the world in the
temperate zones3. A person is infected when a black-legged tick imbeds itself into
them while out in the open in wodded and forested areas. This usually occurs between
the months of May and July. .....

The Big Bang
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1136.... State model says that the universe does not evolve or change in
time. There was no beginning in the past, nor will there be change in the
future. This model assumes the perfect cosmological principle. This principle
says that the universe is the same everywhere on the large scale, at all times.
It maintains the same average density of matter forever.
There are observational evidences found that can prove the Big Bang model is
more reasonable than the Steady State model. First, the redshifts of distant
galaxies. Redshift is a Doppler effect which states that if a g .....

Kangaroos -
Number of pages: 7 | Number of words: 1652.... have several special adaptations. They have wider feet to allow them to walk is shallow water. They can eat several different types of sea plants. They can do this because they have a higher tolerance to salt than normal kangaroos.
Kangaroos that live in forests have adapted to this climate as well. Their feet are wide to allow them to climb trees. This allows them to eat leaves off of the trees. They also do not have claws as long as other species. There is usually a larger supply of fresh water in the forests.
FAMILY STRUCTURE
A group of kangaroos living togethe .....

Cardiovascular Disease
Number of pages: 8 | Number of words: 2198.... a heart attack is about 50 percent less than if you are inactive and out of shape. With routine exercise you can reach a level of physical fitness comparable to an active person ten to twenty years younger. Regular exercise may also lower your cholesterol and blood pressure, and reduce the risk of diabetes.
Exercise increases the size of coronary arteries and reduce clogging due to atherosclerosis. Exercise also increases the efficiency of your blood's oxygen-carrying capacity and your muscles' uptake of oxygen.
Exercise has been linked to increased levels of high density .....

Earthquakes
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1173.... they travel through the earth's interior-and the other four are surface waves. The waves are further differentiated by the kinds of motions they impart to rock particles. Primary or compressional waves (P waves) send particles oscillating back and forth in the same direction as the waves are traveling, whereas secondary or transverse shear waves (S waves) impart vibrations perpendicular to their direction of travel. P waves always travel at higher velocities than S waves, so whenever an earthquake occurs, P waves are the first to arrive and to be recorded at geophysical researc .....

Carbon Dioxide
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 662.... into the atmosphere every year. 75% of this is caused from the burning of fossil fuels. These fuels are burnt all the time to run factories, power plants and vehicles. The main sources of CO2 emissions are electric utilities, residential buildings, industry and transportation. The other 25% is induced by the destruction of the world's forests. The reason for this is that there are less trees and plants to take in the CO2 but there is just as many, if not more, humans and animals to breathe it out.
The amount of CO2 in a planet's atmosphere affects the temperature of the pl .....

Chicken Pox
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 397.... days. Scars will be present if they get infected, badly
scratched or removed. A physician is not usually not needed to make a
diagnosis but after the symptoms appear it is still best to
make sure it is the chicken pox and not something much
worse. The physician can easily make a diagnosis by
checking the basic symptoms. Chicken pox is controlled by keeping the infected
person and anything the infected person has come in
contact with away from any people who have never
become infected. There is not really a treatment, just
medicine so that the rash does not itch. T .....
