Chesapeake Bay Pollution
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1118.... decline was evident as early as the 1950s. In the late 1970s, state and federal scientists began an extensive study to determine the reasons for the Bay's decline. Three major problems were identified; excess nutrients from wastewater, agricultural lands, and developed land; sediment in runoff from farms, construction sites, and eroding lands; and possible elevated levels of toxic chemicals.
Nitrogen and phosphorus are considered good things because they support the bottom of the food chain. But in recent years the Chesapeake Bay has been receiving too much of these nutrients. .....

Homosexual Gene
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 369.... Some traits are not politically and religiously charged: the hardness of the enamel on your teeth, which is controlled by a single gene, whose location is known, and who’s function we do understand.
Now scientists are attempting to find proof if the infamous “gay gene”. For years, the gay community has been trying to prove that they were “born gay” and that their lifestyle was not choice. The news media has a ridiculous double standard for the trait "sexual orientation" and every other trait. ABC's science journalist David Marash reported on Nightline that a gay gene "sugges .....

Natural History Of The Lamprey
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1160.... The adult forms of lamprey die soon after spawning and reaching their mature form.
Lampreys mostly live in freshwater streams and seas of temperate and subartic regions throughout the world, except for Southern Africa. The sea lamprey is a marine species. They are native to the Atlantic Coast of North America and Europe. In many areas it has adapted to a life cycle spent entirely in freshwater. The sea lamprey invaded Lake Erie in the 1920’s, where its warm water was good for reproduction. They migrated to Lake Huron in 1939 and then to Lake Michigan. Within a few yea .....

Acid Rain
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 348.... takes place very quickly. Therefore, the making of So3 in the damp atmosphere is assumed to be the lead to the formation of sulfuric acid.
Phase two: the aqueous phase, sulfur dioxide occurs as three species.
[S {iv}] [So2{aq}]+[+1S03-] +[So32-]
This process occurs by a twofold process.
1) So2 (aq) H++H S o3-
2)H so3-(aq ) h++ So32-
The establishment of the equilibrium is dependent upon such things as ph. , droplet size, "sticking coefficient" for So2 on water, etc.
What was being done to prevent acid rain was the 1995 implementation of phase one of the clean air a .....

Laziness
Number of pages: 8 | Number of words: 1951.... II affects people over sixty
years of age.
There are several immunological abnormalities associated with
psoriasis. Early psoriatic changes occur in advancing lesions before the
accumulation of inflammatory cells. These changes are mediated by
activated CD4+ T lymphocytes and can be detected before visible pathology
to the skin occurs. Activated T lymphocytes exhibiting an increase in
HLA-DR and IL-2R can be seen in close proximity to Langerhans cells in the
dermis before lesion formation. Since Langerhans cells are antigen
presenting cells, activation of the T .....

Nobelium
Number of pages: 1 | Number of words: 163.... Swedish inventor and philanthropist.
Nobelium can be found when produced artificially in a laboratory.
Discovery of the element was first claimed in 1957 by scientific groups in the
United States, Great Britain, and Sweden, but the first confirmed discovery of a
nobelium isotope was by a team of scientists at the Lawrence Radiation
Laboratory in Berkeley, California and that took place in 1958. The isotope was
created by bombarding curium isotopes with carbon ions.
Chemically, the properties of nobelium are unknown, but because it is an
actinide, its properties should resemb .....

Alternativly Powered Cars
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 412.... After the power supply is replenished the gasoline engine shuts down. Also the gasoline engine is used to power the vehicle as it reaches the higher speeds where the added horsepower is needed. Usually the speed at which the gasoline engine starts is in the 30 mile per hour range. Even as the gasoline engine runs the electric motor continues to provide power for the vehicle. This vehicle combination in my opinion is beneficial economically and environmentally.
There are many benefits for the hybrid vehicle. The price of hybrid cars present day is near seventeen thousand d .....

The Dog
Number of pages: 14 | Number of words: 3730.... etc. It has been very important as a
work animal and as a psychological support for humans. The habitat of the dog is
where it’s owner lives. Different dogs have different adaptations to their
ancestral habitat but nowadays, this is not applicable.
ANATOMY
SKELETON
The skeleton of the dog is the articulated structure, moved by the muscles, that
holds the dog’s body and protects some organs and the nervous system. It also
functions as mineral and blood deposit of the body. The skeleton of a dog is
made up of approximately 321 bones: 134 form the axial skeleton (skull,
