Is Monogamy The Best Form Of Marriage?
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 569.... life-long monogamy. Sociologists, Ford and Beech, have found that only twenty-nine of the one-hundred and eighty-five contemporary cultures studied, less than sixteen percent restrict men and women to a single partner for life. However, less than one-third of the twenty-nine monogamous cultures completely disapprove of both premarital and extramarital relations (Francouer 72).
For centuries, marriage was a dynastic affair, arranged by the parents and families. During the Middle Ages, they thought of marriage as a passionate love for an unattainable woman, usually the wife .....

Existentialism In The Early 19th Century
Number of pages: 6 | Number of words: 1643.... objective standards. Against the traditional view that moral
choice involves an objective judgment of right and wrong, existentialists
have argued that no objective, rational basis can be found for moral
decisions. The 19th-century German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche further
contended that the individual must decide which situations are to count
asmoral situations.
Subjectivity
All existentialists have followed Kierkegaard in stressing the importance
of passionate individual action in deciding questions of both morality and
truth. They have insisted, accordingl .....

Distractions In Life
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 415.... unknown point. I
had realized I would not succeed in this battle called life without serious work.
The only one who could help me was me. I knew that I wasn't meant to do the
exact same thing for the rest of my life. I had to escape this bottomless pit
and move on to the next adventure. "I had several more lives to live and could
not spare any time for that one."
I moved on to another life. My "new" life was very hard to get used to,
but was well worth the trouble. I began trying new things and actually enjoyed
it. I realize now that I only have a short time in my life and I .....

Bias
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 995.... the 1920's, black scholars like W.E.B. Du Bois, Charles
Johnson, and Carter Woodson, started a project to collect oral evidence
from former slaves who were still living. Even these interviews could not
be viewed as 100% accurate. One example, is a geographic bias. The people
that were interviewed were only a very small portion of the millions of
freed slaves. Counting the number of slaves interviewed from each state,
it was discovered that there were only 155 interviews from black people
living in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Missouri, and Kentucky, which is
about .....

Racism
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1343.... more often and most harshly when two groups
with different skin colours and unique physical features come into contact
with each other and the two compete for the same thing. History shows that
all attempts at a racial dominance result in conflict and avoidance.
But, some communities without disturbed racial conflict can take
advantage of all its citizens potential and move toward elimination.
Our hate is caused by witnessing the behaviour of the Ku Klux Klan,
our unfavourable feeling toward a person without actual facts and the
verbal abuse that we get almost every d .....

Why People Dye Their Hair
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 921.... look like a way cool punk rocker,
really trendy, or like your hair grew some major mold. It can depend on the
dye or the way you dye it, or sometimes on pure luck.
Sometimes people dye their hair because they need a change. They're
sick of the brown-haired, boring old person they see in the mirror every
day, and want to add a little spice to their look. It's really hard to be
boring looking when your hair can be seen from a block away. It's a valid
reason to make a change, and seems like a good idea to me.
A more common reason that people dye their hair, but most wouldn't

Male And Female Roles In Society
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 386.... and be praised for it. Ironically, attending a university and receiving an education requires dominant characteristics such as competitiveness, aggressiveness, confidence, etc. Bearing these qualities has served as a hindrance to being accepted by my society. Fortunately, my parents never stuck to the traditional rules for girls. We were taught how to do everything that a boy does, probably because we don't have a brother.
Although I strongly disagree with the role girls and boys are expected to play in society I do embrace one particular aspect of it. The fact the in .....

Juveniles: Too Young To Die?
Number of pages: 7 | Number of words: 1675.... when dealing juveniles. And yet, with only 9% of the public supporting
the policy, it remains in effect.
Another strong outcry for the death penalty comes from those wanting
restitution for the death of a loved one. It is the thought that a life is the
ultimate price to pay which fuels this argument. The delineation between adults
and juveniles is much less clear on this point. Age doesn't seem to make much of
a difference when dealing with restitution. Putting an individual to death seems
to put the minds of certain individuals at ease. This argument is what makes
th .....
