Animals In The Research Lab
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 321.... activist organizations believe that there are no moral reasons
for the use of animals in research. This has attempted to slow or halt the work
of scientists. Some activists groups intimidate or harass individual scientists,
conduct demonstrations, or sometimes commit acts of vandalism. There are a few
health professionals who support the activist movement but they truly stand
apart from the vast majority of physians and most Americans who readily accept
the fact that animal research is necessary to gain medical progress.
The use of living animals remains a very important .....

Let The Animals Go
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1216.... Thus, circuses should not
have the right to use animals for entertainment.
There is a high amount of abuse that lies behind the performance of
circus animals. Not only is there physical abuse, but also mental.
Maclean’s Magazine finds that Veterinarian Ken Langlier becomes disgusted
with the treatment of animals in the circus. “What he sees in circuses
often sickens him: malnourished tigers, monkeys with their fingers bitten
off, and elephants biting one another or pacing nervously.” (Brady).
Animals can not possibly like circus life. It is obvious that audience .....

Overcoming Marital Conflict
Number of pages: 6 | Number of words: 1531.... sexual relationship. Havelock Ellis (1859-1939) wrote in
The New Spirit, "The omnipresent process of sex, as it is woven into the whole
texture of our man's or woman's body, is the pattern of all the process of life".
This leads me to believe our sexuality is the core to ourselves.
Unfortunately there are so many variants between men and women emotionally that
unavoidable conflicts will surface in the bedroom. Adam and Eve are the only
union who ever had the freedom of entering marriage and lovemaking with no
preconceived ideas no hang-ups, and no inhibitions. Men and wo .....

Gangs
Number of pages: 12 | Number of words: 3191.... as defined in Websters is “Physical force or activity used
to cause harm, damage or abuse”
4. Youth: as defined in Websters is “The appearance or state of
appearing young; the time of life when one is not considered a adult; a young person”
III. Our current juvenile justice system is no longer adequate for
today's hardened young gang members. Demographics indicated this problem is not
going away. In fact, only will get worse. This is a serious problem that can
not be left unchecked. If this is not addressed it will only lead to the decay
of our society. .....

On Love And Hate
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 657.... of the hatred has shifted.
We are given a wide range of paths for dealing with our hatred, from
the altruistic to the reactionary. The altruists, wishing peace without
societal discord, tell us to repress our hatred and replace it with love, a
path bound eventually for emotive explosion and breakdown. The diametric
path gives us a series of smaller explosions with promise of emotional
stability as a result of constant expulsion of malefic urges.
Neither of these, or combinations thereof, are terribly productive
ways in which to deal with hate, as even the moderat .....

My Great-Grandmother Was Not A Person
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 634.... If this is what is
determeined as equality then women were getting the short end of the stick and
men were receiving all of the benifit. This perception still holds strong today,
although not as strongly.
Men said that women were to fragile to vote. Yet no man has ever experienced
labor pains. Furthermore no man has fought any battle that was as hard as the
one the famous five women have fought. The Election Act of the Dominion of
Canada states that "No woman, idiot, lunatic, or criminal shall vote." So women
are equal to criminals? It's not a crime to be a woman. We sho .....

The Adults Are Always Right?
Number of pages: 6 | Number of words: 1482.... Every syllable that comes out of the mouth of an adult is heard as ‘
nag.' For example:
Adults say: "clean your room! ."
Kids hear: "nag nag nag!"
Adults say: "Stop watching television."
Kids hear: "nag nag nag nag nag nag nag."
They think of us as being lazy, and irresponsible, selfish and useless.
Some adults quiver when they hear how we will one day run this world. What makes
us lazy, the fact that we watch an hour of television after a hard day at school,
before eating dinner and doing our homework? Why are .....

The Urban Underclass: Challenging THe Myths ABout America's Urban Poor
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1146.... welfare rolls, and legions of
high school dropouts consigned forever to joblessness. Yet none of these
perceptions is true, according to a new Brookings book, The Urban
Underclass. Edited by Christopher Jencks of Northwestern University and
Paul E. Peterson of Harvard, this set of essays attempts to separate the
truth about poverty, social dislocation and changes in American family life
from the myths that have become part of contemporary folklore.
According to a number of indicators the underclass is shrinking, writes
Peterson in his introductory essay. A higher per .....
