problems and symptoms -- without correcting the cause -- the problems and
symptoms grow and spread like creeping crab grass.
But as an individual, what can one do? The answer is simple. All one has
to do is love. Love is the solution to all of the social problems in our society.
Adequate love will eliminate evil, crime, violence, mental suffering, the
suffering of innocent children, dysfunctional families, the break-up of families,
restlessness, discontent, .....

Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 1014.... era by the hardcore-punk band called Minor Threat. The song
"Straight-Edge" written by Ian MacKaye, the band's singer, not only coined
the phrase, but it encompassed all of the philosophies that a straight-edge
person believes in. There have been theories that an earlier punk band,
called the Teen Idols (which included Ian MacKaye and the drummer from
Minor Threat*), started the ideology of straight-edge, but the term was not
used until MacKaye wrote and published the song. Minor Threat have since
disbanded, but hardcore fans everywhere still follow the words of .....

Tobacco Companies Targeting Young People
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 537.... through magazines and see Joe
Camel driving a cool car and surrounded by beautiful women they get the idea
that in order to be somebody they need to smoke a Camel cigarette. It is not
right to prey on young people just because they are unaware of the dangers of
smoking.
The tobacco industry denies that these symbols target people less than

Richard Durbin who said "If we can reduce the number of young smokers, the

Hiring Quotas In Employment
Number of pages: 6 | Number of words: 1408.... asked is, "What is wrong with quotas? What is wrong with companies hiring a variety of blacks, Hispanics, women, and white males?" The problem is not with hiring a variety of people from different ethnic groups. The problem begins when the person who is best qualified for a job, loses the position to someone less qualified. More and more, white males are having problems finding jobs because they are not black or Hispanic or do not have breasts. Affirmative action, which is action in the form of quotas and special treatment for "protected classes", has resulted in a politic .....

Animal Rights
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1337.... as I
remember. On this topic I feel as though having domesticated animals in the home
is fine as long as proper care is taken of them. As for more controversial issue
like animal research and experimentation my views vary. A few years ago I felt
that any research or experimentation on animals was inhumane and unjust. However
after maturing and becoming more aware of the world, I now feel as though there
are definite ‘goods’ that come from animal research that can not come from doing
tests on humans. This view is by no means one sided. I also feel that there are
some things b .....
