Book Report On Dostoevsky's "The Brothers Karamazov"
Number of pages: 12 | Number of words: 3140.... part of the shameless
"buffoon" for attention, even though the attention he receives is negative.
Because he has no respect for himself, he can have no respect for others, either.
He has no respect for women, for example; he is a despicable "voluptuary," and
he satisfies his lust at any cost. He drives his wife to madness by bringing
"women of ill-repute" into their house right in front of her. Even more
shockingly, he rapes a mentally retarded woman, who later dies giving birth to
his illegitimate son, Smerdyakov, who grows up as his father's servant.

Brave New World By Aldous Huxley
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 998.... rather attain social recognition. At least, not until the opportunity
presents itself. Thus, through a series of events, Bernard uses the
curiosity of the society to his advantage, fulfilling his subconscious wish
of becoming someone important; a recognized name in the jumble of society.
This ends when the curiosity of others ends, and as a supreme result of his
arrogant behaviour, he is exiled.
The instigator of this curiosity as well as the author of Bernard's
fame (and folly), is an outsider know as the Savage. The Savage is brought
in from outside of the utopian .....

Jem's Journal: Chapter Summary
Number of pages: 7 | Number of words: 1820.... but I didn't want her getting sick because knowing
Atticus, I'd be the one who would have to take care of her and that wouldn't go
over to well with me since I know I could have stopped her from getting sick. I
think I yelled at her and said that isn't she supposed to know that she isn't
allowed even near those trees. We all know about that weird guy Boo Radley and
we know that property is off limits. I told her that she would probably get
killed if she were caught. She said in defense that I touched the house once.
This was a clear reference to Boo Radley's house but .....

A Tale Of Two Cities: Sydney Carton
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 503.... dressed, and
remained very calm and relaxed, maybe even carefree, most of the time he
was in court. This also gives Sydney Carton an immature appearance in the
novel.
At the beginning of the story and a large part of the novel, Sydney
Carton is shown to be a very arrogant, frustrated man with a drinking
problem. Several times in the novel he indulged in his drinking to the
point of becoming drunk or close to it. Many times that he is seen, he is
drinking wine or has a flask of liquor in his hand. This may keep him calm
or help him to remain composed in the court, .....

First Love: Vladimir's Voyage
Number of pages: 7 | Number of words: 1910.... when he hopelessly falls in love with the older and craftier Zinaida, it is only natural that his experience brims with romantic raptures and tribulations. He comes into the experience with ideal notions of romanticism which he acquires from the poetry and romantic literature that he reads in his childhood. "I would take a book with me - Kaidanov's lectures, for example - though I seldom opened it, and spent most of the time repeating lines of poetry aloud to myself - I knew a great many by then."( p. 23) From his first encounter with the mystical enchantress, his behavior alte .....

The day that Catherine left her music teacher was "the happiest day of her life" . It is not that Catherine despises music, she just does not prefer the lessons. She does, however, enjoy drawing, although it does not rank the highest of her fancies. Her supply of paper is not plentiful, so she draws on "any other odd pieces of paper" that she can get her hands on. She is taught lessons by each of her parents, but she gets out of both .....

To Kill A Mockingbird: Childhood Experience
Number of pages: 6 | Number of words: 1562.... come out from those experiences. This
characteristic, however, has given me a big revelation after reading the two
novels. The novels show that the childhood experience of a person has a great
positive influence on his personality, behaviour, and ways on dealing with
others. This idea has been shown by the authors in both novels.
From the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, one could discover that innocent
behaviour and misunderstanding can lead a child to view a person or thing
incorrectly and incompletely. This behaviour can also lead a child to a wrong
perspective. In the fi .....

Their Eyes Were Watching God: Janie Crawford
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 535.... with
Joe, Janie loses her self-consciousness because she becomes like a little kid
being told what to do by an adult, Joe. She does it without even questioning
herself, which is why I think that she loses the part of her voice that she has
discovered by running away from Logan. At times, she has enough courage to say
no to Joe, but he always has something to say back that discourages Janie from
continuing her argument. But, in my opinion, Janie does not lose her will to
find herself and it might have even become stronger because the reader can see
that Janie is not happy .....
