World Hunger
Number of pages: 8 | Number of words: 2007.... the famine areas on other
vehicles. Merchants were taking food from famine areas to parts of the country
where there was no famine. World Hunger and poverty can be seen in many ways.
But first lets establish a solid definition of poverty : Poverty is a state in
which the ability of individuals or groups to use power to bring about good for
themselves, their families, and their community is weakened or blocked. When
someone lacks food, this is referred to as material poverty. This sort of
poverty can hurt people in many ways, it can hurts people's self esteem and it

Juvenile Delinquency
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 975.... a delinquent in one community may not be
against the law in another community. In some communities, the police ignore
many children who are accused of minor delinquencies or refer them directly to
their parents. But in other communities, the police may refer such children to
a juvenile court, where they may officially be declared delinquents. Crime
statistics, though they are often incomplete and may be misleading, do give an
indication of the extent of the delinquency problem. The FBI reports that
during the early 1980's, about two-fifths of all arrests in the United .....

Television Born Killers
Number of pages: 12 | Number of words: 3181.... overall cumulative weight of all the studies gives credence to the position that they are related" (p. 94-95).
The question is whether these generalised lab findings can be equated with real life. The experiments done in this field are all controlled. They do not correlate with real life problems. While these experiments support the argument, many do not live up to good empirical research. Cumberbatch (1989) examined the main methodological problems he felt were evident in many major studies of the relationship between television violence and aggression.
He focused on five ar .....

Adoptees And Identity Formation
Number of pages: 8 | Number of words: 2010.... than a child who is adopted at the age of ten. This may be due in part to the probability that an infant will learn how to trust, where as a ten-year-old may have more difficulty with this task, depending on his history. Eric Erickson, a developmental theorist, discusses trust issues in his theory of development. The first of Erickson’s stages of development is Trust v. Mistrust. A child who experiences neglect or abuse can have this stage of development severely damaged. An adopted infant may have the opportunity to fully learn trust, where as an older child may have bee .....

Values
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 376.... be guided by people that care about the outcome, and if things
don't work out they'll be there to do whatever they can to help me. You never
have to put on a front with your relatives, they will almost always accept you
for who you are.
Another value that was influenced by my parents as well as television, is
friendship. Even though your family is always there for you, friends are still
very important to have. Having friends will usually raise a person's self-
esteem. By having friends you know that you are a good person, and that people
like you. Friends can also help .....

Child Labor
Number of pages: 2 | Number of words: 487.... in old, run-down factories, but in unregulated parts of the economy
such as agriculture and domestic services. Surprising to most, even
countries such as the United States still have their share of problems. In
a recent awareness swap between American and Bangladesh children, both
groups experienced the sight of little kids laboring in sweatshops.
Although the UN wants to help, they are somewhat limited in their
abilities to make dramatic changes. If they put legal restrictions, such
as trade sanctions against imports from countries using child labor, it
could act .....

Why Are The Homeless Homeless?
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 932.... that they should be able to
afford a couple of respectable suits or other outfits to wear while
applying and even working for this job of theirs. All they have to do is
poke around a little longer or beg a little more, and that job would be
theirs to enjoy. Keeping these articles of clothing clean would be
difficult, but manageable. If you can't afford a coin operated laundromat
(I'm sure there'd be plenty of left over change from begging), just find
some large, clean puddle of water in the street to wash things in. As for
cleanliness, I'm sure people throw away left over d .....

Societies Scapegoat
Number of pages: 7 | Number of words: 1708.... significance alongside the landfill of troubles
that influence children today. Besides, trying to get networks to cut out
violence and aggression entirely would be like trying to get Jesus Christ to
write a top ten list of reasons why Christianity sucks. (It's not going to
happen.)
TV is not the reason that our youth courts are filled to capacity with
court dockets so hideous you would swear that you were looking at the start of
the apocalypse. Television programs are not the reason for the apparent
increase in adolescent crime. If you find yourself picking up your kids .....
