Cultural Diversity & Intergroup Relations: A Glimpse Into The World Of The Disabled
Number of pages: 3 | Number of words: 616.... from the Academic Building, but instead, it took me about 15 minutes with the walker. People were kind enough, however, to open the doors for my partner and I.
As we entered the cafeteria, I noticed people looking at us sympathetically and some very arrogantly. One person in particular couldn’t stop starring at me. The way he was looking at me upset me and made me a bit annoyed. In my mind I felt like hitting him with my walker, but my good sense told me it is not a good idea. By the time I got to the cafeteria, I was really tired and worn out. I saw my fellow handic .....

Sartre And Homosexuality
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1108.... homosexual, he would be in bad faith. He would essentially agree that he is a homosexual in the same way that a book is a book. He wold be "affirming that he is a homosexual in the sense of being-in-itself, yet at the same time he would be aware that this was not, in fact, the case.
Another paradigm that we could use is the example of Ex-President Richard Nixon. Nixon’s infamous statement, "I am not a crook," is a nearly perfect example. By stating outright that he is not a crook, Nixon is actually telling the truth. He is saying that though it is true that he may have com .....

The Media's Impact On Life
Number of pages: 4 | Number of words: 919.... Anytime a new commercial aired. I would always ask for the newest one. This was of course, before I comprehended the value of the Canadian dollar bill. As the nineties have change the appearance of our currency, my outlook on first impressions of the advertisements has changed as well.
Subsequent to the view of both Norma Rae and Pretty Woman, I felt the characters played by Sally Field and Julia Roberts were down to earth and portrayed realistically for their time frames. At first, they both turned to men for comfort and it led them into a world of trouble. After all their .....

Animal Rights
Number of pages: 5 | Number of words: 1133.... cosmetics. The technician gives a short bark of laughter and asks if you would like to see the skin-testing lab.
Every year millions of animals suffer and die in painful tests to determine ‘the safety’ of items ranging from eye shadow to oven cleaner. The eye irritancy test described above is only one of the tests that convince me that animal product testing is absolutely wrong. A lethal dose test force-feeds animals a particular chemical in order to see how toxic it is. It may also be injected under the skin, into a vein, or into the lining of the abdomen; mixed into .....

Right-Wing Hypocrisy
Number of pages: 1 | Number of words: 268.... is anti-Christian and therefore an agent of the devil. I disagree
totally with that assessment. Just because someone is pro-choice or
doesn't attend church regularly doesn't mean he is not a good Christian. I
thought the teachings of Jesus encouraged tolerance and forgiveness, not
persecution.
For instance, these groups preach "family values", with the father
working, the mother cooking and cleaning, and the kids being subservient to
their parents. I am surprised more women don't find this sexist and
offensive. Roles in each individual family are, and should be, dif .....

Morality; The Pre-existing And Universal Code
Number of pages: 6 | Number of words: 1387.... right three thousand years ago is morally right today and should be morally right three thousand years from now. Only with universal principles can we as collective society discover what is right, what is wrong, and what is best, therefore there exists not modern morality but simply morality.
An empirical philosopher, W.T. Stace, argues that if we believe all morals are culturally relative, it is impossible for us to judge what is best. Although admitting he does not know what is best, he concludes that it is the responsibility of man to discover what is. He does not disput .....

Communism
Number of pages: 6 | Number of words: 1556.... property and wealth, we can bring about world peace. Their answer was the government known today as communism. Almost every modern form of communism is based on Marx's and Engles ideas and writings.
So then I thought, why isn't communism an effective government? Then I thought that since communism was derived from logic and science, it must not have human nature factored into its fragile equation. Well then I looked at the Russian Government and thought about what led to its downfall. Then I remembered the corrupt government and the lack of food. In addition the unmotivated w .....
